Summarize the value of each book: students will learn x, y, and z.
Offer any negative criticism about each book, especially if the other book does a better job in that area.
Compare the authors’ interpretation of gender and sexuality in a world context. Do they always agree or complement one another? Are there disagreements that indicate that the subject is still unsettled? Is one approach stronger than another?
This specific area of comparison could be a transition point for you to then discuss their methodologies and styles more broadly.
Either at this point or somewhere else in the paper, it is important to evaluate each book’s usefulness or efficacy in the high school setting.
Explain their merits, offer any criticism, and especially note the extent to which they are useful for high school teachers.
